Parking area outside Olsztyn Science and Technology Park
TASK
Olsztyn Science and Technology Park (OPN-T), as the center aiming at increasing the level of innovativeness and modernity of the Warmia and Mazuria region, was constructed from materials based on the latest technologies. While designing the area surrounding the buildings, in order not to interfere with the balance of the environment, it was intended to maintain natural character of this place.
SOLUTION
2730 square meters of geoSYSTEM G4 grid covered the surface of the parking. The grids were sown with grass in order to maintain natural aesthetics of the environment. The surface was reinforced and it is suitable to serve the practical function of green parking spaces.
RESULT
Due to the character of the facility, the parking area is used mainly at weekends, and thus the grass sown may grow freely during the rest of the week, forming natural and eco-friendly look of the area. Eco grids filled with grass and placed on the surface increased its strength. This reinforcement had direct influence on the functionality of the area.
